After the fun festive season there is always the feeling of guilt as we are left having over-indulged and participated in binge drinking. Was that last drink necessary? Should I have stopped when I felt full? Could I have said ‘no’ to that second helping of Christmas pudding? This is all before mentioning the drinks consumed on New Year’s Eve! Yes, it is definitely time to put those New Year’s resolutions into motion. However, before feeling the doom and gloom of post festivities why not start the year off with a healthy but just as enjoyable detox retreat? What a fabulous way to begin 2013!
There are countless places to go however, if you want to bathe in natural mineral water, there is no better place than to jump on a train from London to Bath. This ancient city’s beautiful buildings and Roman setting is a treat within itself, coupled with a day of relaxation at the Thermae Bath Spa and you couldn’t get a better way to begin 2013. Alternatively stay close to London and visit glorious Windsor. Steeped in history the town has many sites to offer that’ll transport you to another era, but is close enough to get back to London within an hour, so you can either make a day trip or decide to spend a night or two. Head on a train straight from London to Windsor and you could walk to The Stables Spa at The Harte & Garter Hotel. Lose yourself in the luxurious surroundings and relax and unwind. If you prefer to release the tension in an open-air Jacuzzi take the train to Windsor Eton Riverside and walk to Wren’s Health Club at Sir Christopher Wren Hotel. There are also a wide range of treatments on offer as well as a state of the art gymnasium so all your needs are catered for.
If you’re brave enough to detox in the fresh sea salty waters then take an advantage of an advance purchase ticket from London to Poole.
