With the warm climate and beautiful landscape Tenerife enjoys, why not sample the vast array of kids activities the island has to offer? There are a plethora of fun things to do and something to suit the whole family when planning Tenerife holidays. Here are three of the very best family days out on this wonderful island.
Loro Parque
Loro Parque has been entertaining families for 40 years and continues to hold the title as Tenerife’s most popular children’s attraction. Since opening its doors in 1972, they’ve gone from teaching visitors about parrots to becoming the home to many species of animals such as reptiles and mammals. Attend shows throughout the day and be dazzled by the tricks and skills of whales and dolphins. The aquarium is not to be missed either, consisting of seven themed exhibits. Enter a world of tropical climates, learn about ecosystems and see the world’s most endangered species. Why not transport yourself to all corners of the globe in the impressive cinema or get lost in a world of wonderful fragrances in the orchid garden.
Top Tip: See all the animal shows back to back, leaving you the rest of the afternoon to wander around the other attractions without having to watch the clock!
Siam Park

Hot on the heels as Tenerife’s premier kids attraction is Siam Park – despite being only five years old. This giant water park rivals those celebrates in Florida, boasting the World’s largest artificial wave pool which creates huge 6ft waves, music to surfer’s ears. Other thrill seekers will feel right at home with death defying rides such as Power of Tower and The Dragon where you’ll be battling against not only water but gravity too. But it’s not all about fast and furious fun at Siam Park; you can find entertainment at Sea Lion Island and the floating market. For something even more leisurely, set up camp on a sunbed in Siam Beach and enjoy the sun’s rays.
Top tip: Visit the Loro Parque website and buy one discounted ticket for both Loro Parque and Siam Park!
Jungle Park
Have a budding wildlife expert in your family? Jungle Park is the perfect place to watch and learn about all kinds of species from primates to penguins to big cats. Make sure you catch a show or two including exotic birds and four extremely intelligent and lovable sea lions. The educational department will also allow your little ones to not only learn about the animals, but the environment in which they live in and the importance of biodiversity in the future. Those who are not keen animal lovers can enjoy the Jungle Raid; a journey through the jungle using a series of bridges, ropes and tunnels.
Top tip: Buy your tickets online and receive a discount of €2!
