Droëwors does not contain curing agent as found in a traditional cured sausage. A direct result of this is that droëwors should not be kept in moist conditions as mold can begin to form more easily than would happen with a cured sausage.
Boerewors is a sausage which is very popular in South African cuisine. Boerewors is based on an older traditional Dutch sausage. It is made from coarsely minced beef, sometimes combined with minced pork and lamb as well as spices. Boerewors contains a high proportion of fat, and is preserved with vinegar and salt.
