Buenos Aires is synonymous with the tango, as we may know. But where to find tango at night, and all night? Well the sound of it will fill the air, especially on Sundays in San Telmo and La Boca, and on Tango Day in mid-December, but to find tango at night and all night, then you should head on to this specific establishments called Milongas.
MicroCentro is the main tourist attractions areas and is renowned for its shopping opportunities, it is picturesque but expensive. The main tourist shops are in and around Florida Street, Lavalle Street and Murillo Street.
If you like leather goods then you should visit Murillo Street, and if you like handicraft, you should not miss the weekends craft fair in Francis Park in Recoleta. San Telmo which is within walking distance from MicroCentro has an excellent Sunday market though.
If you are there you should not miss:
- Buying some amazing leather goods
- Watch performance at the Teatro Colόn
- Tango day in December
- Eva Péron’s tomb in the Cementerio de la Recoleta
When to travel to these places of interest? My opinion is: Spring, Summer and Autumn.
Money saving travel tips in Buenos Aires: Do shop around if you want to buy things as there are often two prices, i.e. one for tourists and another for locals. Also you may want to watch out for those mass produced items masquerading as hand made.
Have fun to these places of interest in this lively city that are filled with passionate people!
