Splitting your holiday between two different destinations offers you the best of two worlds. Your twin centre holidays in 2013 could take in two locations offering similar activities or two completely opposite possibilities.
For instance if Florida is your chosen destination and golf your activity of choice then the world is your oyster as they say. Florida has more than 1250 golf courses – more than any other USA State – so whichever areas you choose you can be sure of a good choice of courses.
Florida also offers the option to split your time between a full-on theme park holiday based in Orlando with a calmer, chilled beach holiday on either the Atlantic (Gold) or the Gulf Coasts. Of course Ocean Florida can tailor a twin centre package just for you. What a choice Florida offers.
Maybe this guide will help:
Orlando
Orlando has so much to offer from the biggest theme park at Walt Disney World® Resort to many other popular ones like SeaWorld, LEGOland, Gatorland and so on.
But there is much more to Orlando than theme parks, the town has great shopping malls and historic buildings in Downtown Orlando. There are also many green spaces in and around the city as well as golf courses galore.
Miami
Home to glitzy South Beach, there is always something going on in Miami that you can either join in or just sit and watch. There are designer shops and art deco buildings to soak up Miami’s history as well as the Seaquarium where you can sea dolphins, seals and sea lions as well as killer sharks and black turtles.
The Everglades is so close that it would be rude not to venture into this preserve and see some of the flora and fauna for yourselves.
Naples
Named after its Italian sister city, Naples on the Gulf Coast is a great place to visit. You can fish from Naples Pier or just watch the beautiful sunsets; or charter a boat for some deep sea fishing or just drop a line from one of the beaches.
If golf is your thing, there are 80+ championship courses in the area so you’ll be spoilt for choice. If shopping is a must on your holiday Naples will come up trumps. There’s a great air-conditioned malls plus waterfront stores and designer outlets on the very aptly named 3rd and 5th Avenues.
Fort Lauderdale
Fort Lauderdale has earned itself the name of the Venice of America for all its waterways and canals. A trip on the waterways is one of the best ways to sight-see Fort Lauderdale and catch Millionaires Row from the water i.e. the homes of the rich and famous who have made it their home – or at least their second home!
For soaking up the sun Fort Lauderdale has 23 miles of beaches too.
Tampa
Tampa and its near neighbours Clearwater and St Pete’s are all perfect for water sports and have miles of Gulf-side beaches. Here you can be as active or as chilled as you like.
There are plenty of other places for your holidays to Florida in 2013 so your second destination should be no problem. With you hire car provided as part of the package, getting from one to the other on Florida’s roads should be no problem.
There are airports at Orlando, Miami, Naples, Fort Lauderdale and Tampa so that organising your flights home from the nearest one to your chosen second destination should be a breeze.
