When it comes to parking at Gatwick, there are plenty of different options to help make the process that little bit easier.
If you’re on a budget and you want to try and keep the costs down, your best bet will probably be to look for off-site car parking options. This involves driving your car to a location several miles from the airport, and leaving it within a secure car parking facility. On arrival, you’ll leave your car in a space and hand your keys over to reception, before taking a free shuttle service to your airport terminal. On arrival back at Gatwick, you’ll meet the shuttle at a designated spot – sometimes you’ll have to call ahead to confirm that you have landed – and you’ll be taken back to the car park ready to hop in and head home.
If you value convenience over price, you may prefer to park on-site at Gatwick, or opt for a Meet and Greet service. When you park on-site, you might still be required to take a shuttle so bear this in mind when searching for car parks. Ideally, look for an on-site park that’s within walking distance of your terminal. These spaces are limited and they’re usually the most expensive option, so book as early as possible to guarantee a space and to get the best price.
Meet and Greet is another favourite among those who are prepared to pay extra for convenience. Usually, you can leave your car at the airport with a car parking official, who will drive it to a car park for you while you catch your flight. On your return back to Gatwick, you’ll meet the representative at the designated place for the handover. Then all that’s left to do is hop in and head home – perfect if you’re short on time, or if you’ve got the family with you.
