I dream of the new opportunities for travel and adventure that a sudden windfall would provide me.
If you were fortunate enough to wake up one Monday, check your Monday lottery results and found you’d won a large sum of money, the world would become a smaller place that you could travel, experience, and enjoy.
Here are a few of my suggestions for a bucket list of holiday destinations that you might include in your travel plans.
Singapore

The Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore
Singapore is a fantastic destination that has earned its ranking as one of the world’s greatest cities. It is thoroughly modern, features fantastic cuisine, and has nearly limitless entertainment options. Most of all, it has the Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island.
The hotel is one of the most spacious and intimate in Southeast Asia and overlooks the South China Sea.Better still, you can stay in a detached villa with its private plunge pool overlooking the nearby sea.
You won’t find a more luxurious, scenic, or romantic setting than drinking wine while lounging in the plunge pool and taking in the evening sunset over the South China Sea with your loved one after a day and evening of taking in the sites and enjoying great entertainment provided in Singapore.
Florence, Italy

A view of Florence Italy
Florence is situated near the western end of the Tuscany region of Italy and is surrounded by vineyards, historic sites, and romantic villas. You could rent a villa and enjoy the local cuisine, wine, music, take trips to the sea, and take day trips to nearby Rome, Pisa, and many other great cities and destinations.
The sea breeze tempers the evening temperatures during the summer, and the lights of Florence and Tuscany will put you in the mood for romance. Spending several days or even weeks in Florence as a base for visiting central and northern Italy would be a most memorable time.
Paris

The Eiffel Tower in Paris
Nothing invokes romance more than Paris, and all the French capital has to offer. Your time there would be best spent in one of the many very old and very luxurious hotels, such as the Four Seasons Hotel George V, the Le Royal Monceau, or the Le Meurice.
At any such hotel, you truly will be treated like royalty as that is where royalty has gone for more than a century to enjoy the creature comforts the luxury hotels offer, including fantastic meals.
From any of the hotels, you can venture out into one of the most culturally rich cities in Europe and enjoy all that Paris has to offer.
Whether it’s an intimate nightclub featuring some of the world’s best musicians and vocalists, to museums and historical sites, where you can view some of the greatest works of art the world ever has known.
Moscow

The Red Square in Moscow
It’s said that if you want to see a truly magnificent city, visit Moscow. The Russian capital is rich in culture and history and features some of the world’s most stunning architecture.
Moscow offers the Kremlin, Saint Basil’s Cathedral, the Bolshoi Theatre, Pushkin Museum, and many other stunning sites. A five-star hotel in Moscow offers all the luxuries you possibly could hope to enjoy, including spas, fantastic dining, authentic Russian caviar, and some of the world’s best wines and other spirits.
The Bolshoi Theatre offers world-class entertainment while Moscow’s museums, cathedrals, Kremlin, and other historical sites house some of the greatest artworks and architecture in the world.
Tokyo

The Busy Tokyo City Centre
Tokyo has undergone many great and significant changes over the past 150 years and has become one of the most modern cities in the world. A stay in a luxury sweet in the Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, or the Peninsula Hotel will provide all the comforts you possibly could hope to enjoy.
Fresh sushi, exotic foods, and one of the most modern cities in the world would make your stay thoroughly enjoyable. You could visit cultural sites, such as the Meiji Shrine and Imperial Palace, to get a sense of old Tokyo during the daytime. Your evenings will be full of fun enjoying the many great nightclubs, restaurants, theatres, and other entertainment offered in Japan’s greatest city.
Galapagos Islands
No bucket list of destinations would be complete without at least one remote, yet romantic locale. It doesn’t get much more remote than the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador.
Fortunately, the islands aren’t as rustic as they were when Charles Darwin made them famous and contain several luxury hotels that will ensure absolute bliss.
The Royal Palm Hotel, in particular, would be a great place for you to stay with its detached casitas and villas that are situated on a private estate on Santa Cruz Island and fully capture the nearby ocean breeze.
You will enjoy a unique combination of privacy and luxury during your stay and have ample opportunities to visit nearby islands as well as the town of Puerto Ayora.
After a trip like that I can guarantee that I’d be buying a weekly Powerball ticket to fund my next global adventure.
