We all work during the weeks and look forward to the weekends as this is the time that we are actually going to relax and get recharged for the coming week. This is the time when we all make plans and some even make it a point to visit some place so that we can be at some beach or any place which gives us a refreshing change from the usual schedule, may be a yacht cruising trip in Persian Gulf. For me it is the Friday night’s biggest decision as then I decide what to do with my weekend and where. The very night I pack and make sure I got that is needed for the trip and would be just waiting for Saturday morning to just go for it.
But then again we all want our house to be a comfortable place to be when we will return after the trip so that we can get ready to tackle the coming week. So for our house to remain so while we are away for our little trip or outing a few precautions have to be taken. These will just increase if you have kids as the kids basically don’t know what can become hazardous in the house and it is our duty to think from their point of view too as it will not be quite a relaxing time if we have our minds preoccupied by counting the possibilities of damages that we can expect when we get back to our abode.
Fire Safety and Precaution
The first and foremost concern is of fire as this is also the most common area where people just cannot be careful enough. Before leaving make sure that the gas lines are secured and do not have any sort of leaks. The kitchen is usually the coziest place in the house but it also can be quite hazardous and so one should check all the appliances, sockets and wiring before coming to a conclusion that everything is safe.
Before leaving make sure that you don’t have any loose wiring or faulty circuits which can raise its hood while you are away. Thinking of fire safety is quite a priority but walking into a semi submerged house too will not be how we want to start our week after the outing.
Water Safety and Precaution
Water safety is also a must as this too can be havoc during these trips. Ensure that the taps are all working well and if you close the valves then they should remain closed. Make sure that you have a neighbor check things out so that in case there are any leaks they can be taken care of by professionals. Also, turn off the water at the main if there is no one to check your house.
