Decisions, Decisions
Finally! I was finally finished with my very first historical romance novel! If you’ve ever tried to write a novel, you’ll know how difficult it can be to actually write a cohesive novel from start to finish. Well, this labor of love (and passion and sensuality) took me a total of 10 months to complete. It might not seem like a long time, but when you consider that I spent at least five hours a day typing away on my laptop, you’ll find that the math equals…a lot.
Well, now that I was finished writing about my heroine and hero falling in love in the tropical breezes of Ceylon (modern Sri Lanka), I felt the need to find my own adventure in a tropical paradise as a reward, and a way to inspire the muse for future romantic writing endeavors.
Choosing the Location
I knew that I wanted to take a three month vacation to a location that was bright, lively, fragrant, and as lush and tropical as I envisioned Ceylon to be. Sure, I did some research on Sri Lanka and saw what a great vacation spot it would be, but I didn’t really want to deal with monsoons. To get a better idea of the tropical locations that would meet my needs I Googled ‘tropical vacation spots’ and Bali was on top of the list. Bali looked beautiful, had tons of places to see and things to do, and it was totally affordable. I jumped at the chance to see and experience Bali for myself so I grabbed my Discover card and booked a flight for late August to the beautiful island of Bali.
Choosing the Accommodation
Now that I knew I would be taking my vacation to Bali, I had to decide on paying for a hotel room or paying Bali villa rent. After Googling for hotels in Bali, I found that many of the hotels were just too…chrome and glass to be natural. I wanted to experience the up close and personal natural beauty of Bali and I found that I could do that if I sprang for Bali villa rent and went with the villa Bali rental instead of the hotel room.
The villas in Bali are spectacular. I could choose from one bedroom all inclusive villas, or I could choose an eight bedroom villa and bring some friends along. Since I wanted to vacation all on my lonesome, I decided to go with the one bedroom all inclusive and made sure to pay a little extra for the in-suite spa treatment inclusion, which surprisingly, a lot of the villa Bali rentals offer.
