Because Orlando has optimal weather throughout the entire year, weather is not a huge factor in deciding when to take a fishing trip. What can determine when you take your relaxing fishing vacation is the type of fish that you are hoping to catch. If you are looking to try your hand at fishing for Striped Bass, Sunshine Bass, Largemouth Bass, Crappie or American Shad, then the best time to go is in the winter. Anytime from December to late February is a great time for these types of fish.
If you are looking for Bluegill or Shellcracker, then the spring and summer are excellent times for catching these fish. You can try for Channel Catfish most anytime of the year; however you will have better luck with other more prevalent types.
Once you know what type of fish you want to go after, you can plan your Orlando vacation accordingly. For the most part, the most prevalent time for fishing is in the winter and late spring and if you go during the months of January and February, you can get a great deal on flights and hotels, as these are less popular times to go on vacation. There will be less people in the area and you can get some great fishing done when there are not as many crowds there.
The most important thing to remember when planning your fishing trip to Orlando is that anytime is a good time to be on the water with the ones that you love. If you are not after any particular type of fish, then go at a time that is best for your schedule. You will be able to get bites at any time of the year in Orlando and you will most likely have warm weather no matter when you go.
