Paris, France is one of the most romantic destinations on earth. Everything about the city is romantic, from the Eiffel Tower, to the bridges along the Seine, nearly any spot in Paris will be ideal to propose in. One of my favorites is on the hill in Montmartre, a spot that overlooks the entire city. At night, with all the lights, it is truly magical.

to a romantic atmosphere on one of the stunning islands. Taking a stroll along the sand just as the sun sets and you get down on one knee is truly an unforgettable moment. Whether it’s on Maui’s south shore, Kauai’s remote north shore beaches, or a gorgeous mountain outlook in Oahu, the proposal will be special. There are plenty of other amazing Hawaiian locales including restaurants along the water, waterfall hikes, and a special sunrise proposal over breakfast.
3. New York City, New York
New York, New York. The city that never sleeps. This can be quite an advantage when planning your proposal. The sheer number of famous areas in this 4 mile by 11 mile island is incredible, so there is truly no shortage of places to propose. Some timeless favorites are the boat ride in Central Park, the top of the Empire State Building, or any of New York’s amazing and unique restaurants.
4. Rome, Italy
When most people think of romance, they think of Italy. The language, the food, everything is filled with love and romance everywhere you look in Italy, and especially in Rome. The historical sites are breathtaking, and the food is just incredible. Taking a romantic stroll through the city past the Trevi Fountain and the Coliseum, finishing with a delectable Italian dinner will stir every romantic feeling in your body. Rome is an amazing place to make some of your own history by proposing in the midst of such splendor and antiquity.
5. London Eye – London, England
While London isn’t terribly well known as a romantic city, the London Eye is definitely one of the most romantic spots in town. And this is no ordinary Ferris wheel. It offers unparalleled views of the city and even an option to bring some sparkling Pimms on your priority boarding if booked in advance for the special occasion. London offers some other great proposal locations, but this one is by far the best and most beautiful.
